Earthday Help
I’ve never called on the magical powers of the internet for help with anything. Usually I can look something up, find a number to call, email, info, etc. etc.
FREE NEWPAPERS!
We don’t want them. I don’t. Kamala doesn’t. I’m sure many other folks in PDX never signed up to recieve free rolled up nonsense in a plastic bag.
Yes there is a number to call if you want to subscribe to the Oregonian and this is the same number we’ve called to try and have it stopped. But we’ve called 6 Times over the past year requesting that we be removed from their list and 5 of the 6 times they’ve said, “Yes we’ll remove you.” Really. No really? NO. The free delivery persist. Usually very early in the morning, when you least expect it, so our chances of catching the bastards and throwing the collection of free papers back at them is still a fantasy. Today, Kamala got pissed because this time instead of placing the paper in the middle of the driveway they actually threw it across our front yard and the paper landed on some plants, crushing and breaking the plant it finally rested on. She called called a sixth time. We doubt they will actually stop.
So internet. I ask, what solutions do you have that’ll really stop this from happening?
I imagine there are tons of unread paper wrapped in plastic bags just being collected and recycled or sitting in drive-ways, piled up in the yards of homes people don’t even live in (we know this because there is one on the corner that has a trail of papers)

Serving Authentic Salvadorian Food
Going to Seattle again on Friday.
Checking out Ramsey Lewis and Dave Brubeck at the Paramount. Glenn’s coming.
Also checking out, possibly, finally, Brouwers in Fremont. Here’s a PDF of all their beers on tap.
Also Saturday, I think the Hair of the Dog sale is happening. Although it says Earthday, which is tomorrow, but on their site they have it as the 26th. Typo?
From the folks that made VisualHub… Techspansion presents AudialHub
Conversion from dozens of audio types to popular formats like AAC, MP3, WMA, AIFF, WAV, Apple Lossless, 3G (cell phones), Ogg Vorbis, FLAC, and even Audio and MP3 CDs!
Also, convert audio tracks within video files, simple trimming capabilities, normalization, burn audio/mp3 cd’s, previewing of soundfile while converting, and a whole bunch of batch processing stuffs.
This is only version 1.0 and I agree that maybe it should allow AU plug-ins with batch processing. That would be more useful than just plain old Normalization.
Free Alternatives to AudialHub - Max and XLD
(because it cost $14.41 for AudialHub)
